Skytrax announce the World Airline Awards ceremony to be held in Hamburg on 20th May 2010, at the Aircraft Interiors EXPO

Aircraft Interiors Expo 2010 has again been chosen as the venue for hosting the 2010 World Airline Awards ceremony.

In launching the first Awards ceremony in Hamburg in 2009,  Skytrax was looking to create an informal awards ceremony to bring together key airline industry personnel from around the world. The World Airline Awards are the most recognised, prestigious and coveted awards to recognise product and service quality across the world airline industry.

"This collaboration with Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg enables Skytrax to again host the World Airline Awards at a venue which is the global market leader for the world's aircraft interiors industry, and with clear synergies between the two events," added Plaisted. "It provides the platform to publicly honour the winning airlines, whilst at the same time delivering an Awards ceremony that is not sponsored or influenced by an third party - this concept remains of paramount importance to us."

The 2010 World Airline Awards™ are based on the annual World Airline Survey by Skytrax, which is conducted between August 2009 and March 2010.

The Awards are recognised around the world, and renowned for being the only truly global, Independent passenger survey of airline standards. The survey does not receive any outside or third-party sponsorship, with all funding of survey costs coming from the Research Division of Skytrax.




The respect that the World Airline Awards achieve across the globe is well documented by the media, and well summed up by Australian newspaper, The Age, who commented that ...."Skytrax awards are highly prized in the travel industry. With awards, it seems, importance depends very much on who's handing them out."


The 2010 World Airline Awards ceremony will take place between 1200-1400hrs on Thursday 20th May 2010 at Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg.
