About the World Airline Awards

The World Airline Awards are not subscriber based, or a profit-driven award programme. The survey transparency and global survey coverage distinguishes the awards as a most prestigious and respected quality recognition for today's world airline industry.

The passenger survey covers over 200 airlines, from largest international airlines to small domestic carriers, and customers rank quality standards across more than 40 areas of airline front-line product and service. The survey is operated over a 10-month period, with more than 100 different user nationalities from over 160 countries around the world participating in the survey.

The World Airline Awards are regarded as a benchmarking tool for Passenger Satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world - delivering a unique survey format based on analysis of business and leisure travellers, across all cabin travel types (First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy class passengers).

The Airline Awards survey analyses customer satisfaction for the Airline Passenger Experience, across both the Airport and Onboard environments - including check-in to boarding, cabin seat comfort, cabin cleanliness, food, beverages, IFE, staff service ... and more.

Skytrax guarantee total transparency across the World Airline Survey process, and the survey directive is for customers to make their own choices as to the airlines they consider to be the best, and worthy of an award.

Airlines do not subscribe to be included in the customer survey, there is no membership criteria, and no charge for winners to attend the World Airline Awards ceremony. To reinforce this independence, Skytrax do not accept any third party sponsorship.
