Turkish Airlines wins award for the Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat




Turkish Airlines was named winner of the World's Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat award at the 2011 World Airline Awards, in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.

The runners-up in this Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat category are Air New Zealand taking 2nd place in the category, ahead of Qantas Airways in 3rd position.

Voted by over 18.8 million airline passengers from 100 different nationalities, the World Airline Awards are the most prestigious quality recognition of front-line product and service standards for the world airline industry. With 200 airlines featured, the awards measure customer satisfaction levels across 38 different items of airline front-line product and service.

TURKISH AIRLINES

Turkish Airlines began 78 years ago with 5 airplanes and today has 169 (passenger and cargo) airplanes. It operates scheduled services to 139 international and 42 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 181 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The airline's main base is at Atatürk International Airport. Starting from April 1st, 2008, THY became one of the members of the world's largest airline alliance, namely, Star Alliance and committed to be Turkey's rising star.

Nicknamed "The Flying Kangaroo", the airline is based in Sydney, with its main hub at Sydney Airport. It is Australia's largest airline, the oldest continuously operated airline in the world and the second oldest in the world overall.
