Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras was named Best Low-Cost Airline South America for
customer Product and Service Quality at the 2011 World Airline Awards, in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.
The runners-up in this Best Low-Cost Airline South America category are Webjet
Linhas Aereas taking 2nd place in the category, ahead of Easyfly in 3rd position.

Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras is a Brazilian domestic low-cost airline based in Barueri.
Brazilian-born David Neeleman, founder and former-CEO of JetBlue, established it on 5 May 2008.
The airline began service on December 15, 2008 and has a fleet of 35 Embraer jets serving 37
destinations. The company was named Azul after a naming contest in 2008. |

intermediate cities and those not served by other carriers. Operations started in October 2007,
with one British Aerospace Jetstream 41 aircraft. Its main base is El Dorado International
