Turkish Airlines wins the Best
Airline in Europe award for 2011 |

Turkish Airlines was named the Best Airline Europe at the 2011 World Airline Awards,
in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.
The runners-up in this category are Swiss Intl Air Lines taking 2nd place in the category, ahead of Lufthansa in 3rd position.

Turkish Airlines began 78 years ago with 5 airplanes and today has 169 (passenger and cargo)
airplanes. It operates scheduled services to 139 international and 42 domestic cities (38 domestic
airports), serving a total of 181 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The airline's
main base is at Atatürk International Airport. Starting from April 1st, 2008, THY became one of the
members of the world's largest airline alliance, namely, Star Alliance and committed to be Turkey's
rising star.
