Lufthansa wins Best Transatlantic Airline title at the 2011 World Airline Awards |

Lufthansa was named the Best Transatlantic Airline for customer Product and Service Quality at the 2011 World Airline Awards,
in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.
The runners-up in this Best Transatlantic Airline category are Continental Airlines, 2nd place in this category, ahead of KLM in 3rd position.

Lufthansa is the flag carrier of Germany and the largest airline in Europe in terms of overall
passengers carried. The airline is the world's fourth-largest airline in terms of overall
passengers carried, operating services to 18 domestic destinations and 203 international
destinations in 78 countries across Africa, Americas, Asia and Europe. Together with its
partners Lufthansa services around 410 destinations. With over 710 aircrafts it has the second-
largest passenger airline fleet in the world when combined with its subsidiaries. Its main
operations base and primary traffic hub is at Frankfurt Airport in Frankfurt am Main with a
second hub at Munich Airport. |

Continental Airlines is based in Downtown Houston, Texas. On October 1, 2010, Continental
airlines was acquired by United Airlines. These airlines are in the process of merging their
operations under the name United Airlines. During the integration period, both airlines will,
for a time, run separate operations under direction of a combined leadership team of the new
parent company based in Chicago. Continental, together with Continental Express and Continental
Connection, offers more than 2,400 daily departures throughout the Americas, Europe and the
Asia-Pacific region.

KLM |

KLM's headquarters are in Amstelveen near its hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. KLM operates
worldwide scheduled passenger and cargo services to more than 90 destinations. It is the oldest
airline in the world still operating under its original name. KLM is the only carrier on 66 of
the routes it operates. On 43 routes it faces competition from one other airline, whereas on 14
routes it faces competition from two other airlines.
