Singapore Airlines won two key awards in this premium category, taking the Best Airline First Class and Best First Class Airline Catering
titles. "Singapore Airlines always puts up a strong performance in the World Airline Awards" said Plaisted, "and
in winning these categories, Singapore Airlines has had to meet the expectations of some of the most demanding
customers in this premium market".
Emirates moved up the rankings, no doubt helped by its new A380 product, and was ranked 2nd in the 2009 results, ahead of Qatar Airways in
3rd and last years winner, Cathay Pacific taking 4th position.
