"the world's most respected and recognised Airline Awards"
|
A new section of the World Airline Awards, the number of airlines offering a "proper" Premium Economy
cabin product and service remains quite restricted, with Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines discontinuing
their Premium Economy offering in 2008.
EVA Air emerged as a clear winner with their Premium Economy class cabin, and whilst Virgin Atlantic lays
claim to being the first airline to provide this "in-between" cabin class, it was of course EVA Air that was
the pioneer of Premium Economy Class - some considerable time before Virgin Atlantic!
"Premium Economy is a travel class that is becoming more and more popular on long haul flights" commented
Edward Plaisted (Skytrax CEO), "and EVA Air is clearly at the forefront when it comes to product and service
quality in this cabin. We congratulate them on this very worthy achievement in the 2008 World Airline Awards,
where many passengers singled out EVA Air for the fine standards of onboard staff service."
